Anton/Bauer has announced the VCLX NM2, a free-standing battery block that was designed specifically to provide power for high draw cameras and lights being used on big productions.

The new VCLX NM2 delivers 600Wh of consistent power at 14.4V, 28V and 48V which allows it to be used to power a large array of different equipment on set.

The VCLX NM2 is a follow-up to Anton/Bauer’s popular VCLX battery that received an Academy Award for scientific and technical achievement.

The new battery features one XLR3 and two XLR4 connectors to provide dual simultaneous high current output delivering consistent 24A current at 14.4V, 16A at 28V or 12A at 48V from the 600Wh NiMH battery.

The VCLX NM2 now charges twice as fast as the previous VCLX. The VCLX 2 magnetic charger attaches to the side of the VCLX NM2 allowing you to charge the battery from 0-100% in just 5 hours.

The VCLX NM2 weighs in at 29.35 lbs / 13.3 kg and Anton/Bauer states that it was built to withstand the rigors of set life, including being put on grip trucks and into shipping cases. The battery casing is made from tough anodized aluminum with over-molded end caps and handle grip. It is claimed to feature an efficient thermal design with passive cooling so it won’t make any noise.

The sealed case is water-resistant up to 8.5” / 21.6cm.

Users can see real-time onboard diagnostics via the 2.4” color LCD screen means the battery and equipment can be monitored to ensure peak performance. VCLX smart technology calculates everything being powered via XLR3, XLR4 or USB for maximum power efficiency.

New fleet management allows full command of entire battery fleets. The VCLX NM2 Sends status information including capacity, cycle count, temperature, and time-stamped reports directly from the battery via built-in Wi-Fi or information can be downloaded to USB storage. Owners can save time spent manually testing batteries for healthy inventory with more uptime

The VCLX NM2 is available to order for $3,990 USD.
