SKANEATELES, N.Y. – Dr. Michael Shende’s love for his Skaneateles Lake-front property at 2346 Thornton Grove North began with an ultimatum.

Friends of him and his wife Elaine had made many summer pilgrimages to the lake after moving to Texas and Elaine wondered why they could not do the same from their condominium in DeWitt.
